The Miss Peanut Butter and Nutter Butter Kids Pageant will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 at the We Piddle Around Theater in Brundidge.

The pageant is sponsored by the Pike County Branch of the American Red Cross and all proceeds will be used for Red Cross programs in Pike County.

“We have 15 participants in the pageant from the Nutter Butter Kids division to the Miss Peanut Butter Queen division,” said Jane Thrash, local Red Cross director. “We invite everyone to come out and support these young people as they compete for the opportunity to serve as ambassadors for their community.”

Thrash said the winners in each division will represent the Peanut Butter Festival during the month of October and on Festival day, Oct. 28.

“They will also participate in the Troy University Homecoming Parade in November and other events in Brundidge throughout the year,” she said.

Featured entertainment for the Miss Peanut Butter Pageant will be SheBANG! cloggers from Troy.

“Pike County Junior Miss Courtney Brunson will be the emcee for the pageant,” Thrash said. “She is a member of SheBANG! and will also be performing.”

Miss Pike County Rachel Watson will also assist with the pageant.

Admission to the pageant will be $3 for those ages 12 and older and $2 for those under 12.

Members of the Collegiate Red Cross and the Junior Red Cross will assist with the pageant.

“The purpose of the Miss Peanut Butter and Nutter Butter Kids Pageant is to select young people who will assist us in promoting the Peanut Butter Festival and the agricultural community during the coming year,” Thrash said. “And in doing so, we are able to raise funds for the programs offered to local residents through the American Red Cross.”

So i immediately booted up my laptop to give it that extra toasty feeling, and dumped two spatula-size peanut butter globs on it. TADA!!! Peanut butter on a toasty dell laptop!!

First Victim, Peanut Butter On My Guitar

I was thinking of just spreading a very thin layer on the guitar’s top, but decided not too. Instead, I slapped on a whole glob of creamy peanut butter. As you can see, gravity decided to take over, and it started to slowly creep down the face of the guitar, onto the carpet. Don’t worry PB lovers, I was able to save it.
